Sun, Earth, and Moon

Hi Team Ward Parents,

Thanks to everyone for meeting with me during our parent-teacher conferences.  I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving with family and friends!  

Team Ward is very excited about the book fair performance on Saturday at Daniel Wright.  Please arrive at about 12:50 so we can get the children organized and ready to perform:-)

We began our unit studying the sun, earth, and moon this week.  Everyone is learning new information about the moon and its phases.  We are also clearing up some misconceptions about the moon.  If you have time over the course of the next couple weeks, go outside to see the moon in the night sky and ask your first grader to share some things he/she has learned.

Spelling is also in full swing.  Students should be bringing home their word sorts every Monday to practice that week.  Please let me know if you have any questions about home spelling practice.
